As small as a golf ball and weighing only 20 grams – the prostate is often barely noticed by men. Yet this small gland, located directly beneath the bladder, plays a vital role in fertility, sexual function, and urinary health. In some men, the prostate continues to grow with age and may cause frequent urination and difficulty urinating. Prosfortil® Plus capsules are a combination preparation made from fireweed herb powder, saw palmetto fruit extract, and the carotenoid lycopene, supplemented with vitamins C and E. Fireweed is rich in flavonoids, particularly myricetin, phytosterols, and ellagitannins, which support the hormonal balance of the prostate. Saw palmetto fruits provide numerous free fatty acids, which are rarely found in this form in nature. These inhibit the conversion of testosterone into the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which drives prostate growth. Lycopene specifically accumulates in the prostate and limits the growth of rapidly dividing, harmful cells. Vitamins E and C help protect cells from oxidative stress, which is also closely associated with dysfunctional changes in the prostate.
